YDAC has received the bulk of its' funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care since 1990.

Additional fundraising efforts are ongoing. Generous donations from new and long-time supporters permit YDAC to continue with basic services and allow us to enrich the program services we offer to our clients and caregivers.

Non-ministry sources of funding have included:

• Service contracts with York Central Hospital and the Region of York's Maple Health Centre
• Charitable donations and other local fundraising.
• Support from the Harmonize for Speech Fund, by various chapters of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. (Barbershoppers)
• Sales of greeting cards produced from artwork done by our clients in our painting for communication program.
• Sales of novelty items and aphasia awareness merchandise such as tee-shirts, wristbands and lapel pins
• Memorial donations from clients and supporters
• Service clubs such as Stouffville Lions Club and foundations
• Donations from clients, families and friends in response to our semi-annual fundraising mail-out campaign
• Pledges made to support our annual walk-and-roll-a-thons and similar events, which involve our clients and their supporters. Periodic community fund-raising events
